Reverse-Engineering the Experience: How Alignment Turns Strategy into Sentiment
Why Some Spaces Just Feel Better (And How to Build One)
A couple of weeks ago, wrote about why certain spaces instantly feel alive while others feel cold.
The most common question I get after sharing that idea is: "Okay, but how do we actually build that feeling into our business?"
It isn't reserved for massive budgets or global brands. It’s a deliberate design choice that starts with reverse-engineering.
Here is the 3-step loop:
Define the Sentiment: How, specifically, do you want customers, employees, and stakeholders to feel during an interaction?
Map the Behaviors: What non-negotiable daily habits, operational choices, and leadership interactions must your team model to create that exact sentiment?
Align the Environment: How do your physical space, internal tools, and operational systems directly support those behaviors?
Strategy sets the intent. Details build the trust. Consistency makes it real.
