The case for clarity

I have worked with leaders for over 20 years and there is one theme that has emerged and consistently is holding organizations back. What is this bottleneck? CLARITY.

  • Organizations are not clear where they are going or why.

  • Leadership teams aren’t clear on where they should prioritize.

  • Leaders aren’t clear on how they measure success and hold each other accountable.

The list of implications is long and expensive. Imagine for a moment that cost of having your leaders pursuing the wrong priorities or competing priorities. Write down the real cost of time spent in the same meeting over and over because there is no clarity and accountability against a project. What is the cost for hiring a “replacement” instead of the leader your organization really needs for the next business milestone.

The value of slowing down to gain clarity and alignment can mean the difference between another year of stagnation and a year that exceeds your goals. Slow down to go fast. Pause. Gain clarity. Get aligned. Move forward. Rowing together gets you farther, faster. Guaranteed.
